Details: If Head Chef of a traditional country pub – catering to both a dining room of restaurant customers and a bar of relaxed customers – appeals to you, then this is an opportunity not to be missed. Our client has built a fantastic reputation as one of the best and most popular country pubs in the south Cotswolds area. As Head Chef, you will bring your wealth of experience in leadership, menu writing, cost control and work with fresh ingredients to continue championing that reputation. You will be responsible for leading a team of 5 kitchen staff and 10 front of house staff, catering up to 100 covers on busy shifts across the restaurant, pub and private dining areas. And when you achieve targets set, you will enjoy a bonus in recognition of your hard work. Main responsibilities: • Overall responsibility for the daily running of the kitchen to agreed budgets • Creative menu design that’s fully costed and in line with the establishment’s brand • Setting the example in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes that are attractively presented • Leading the kitchen team, delegating responsibilities, monitoring performance and managing rotas • Ensuring all ingredient sourcing, ordering and deliveries are managed correctly • Ensuring all aspects of COSHH, health and safety and EHO are upheld • Overall responsibility for the recruitment, training and day-to-day personnel queries

Skills: • At least NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent) • Previous experience as Head Chef in a gastro-pub establishment • Basic Food Hygiene and Allergens certified • An approachable leader with strong man-management skills

Shift Details: • Salary £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience • 5 days out of 7, usually 4 splits and 1 straight shift • Up to 50 hours per week • Uniform provided • Targets-based bonus scheme agreed at the start of employment • Staff flat available on request
