Details: An exciting opportunity to be part of an already established business and to be a KEY person to work with us, to take the food offer to the next level. You will oversee and manage the cafι and production kitchens, as well as being responsible for creating, developing menus and product development for the whole group. What's in a day? Being our Group Head Chef means that everyone in the brigade, from the kitchen porter to the line chefs and supervisors, looks to you for inspiration and to lead them – and you'll have to be a great communicator as you will work closely with the front of house restaurant staff as well as other key departments in the business like the shop and farm. The menus will set the tone for the cafι, the quality and pricing of the food you produce will define a key area and profit centre within the business. You are also responsible for the management of our production kitchen, this is an integral part of the company as this provides a home-cooked range of food to all the cafes and shops. There will be significant scope to develop new product for both areas.

Skills: Key responsibilities: • Overall responsibility for daily operations in both kitchens • Liaising with purchasing companies for food orders to find best pricing and service • Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food within structured budgets agreed and set by the company • Controlling the wages to within budgeted targets • Liaising with senior management to produce menus and new dishes • Managing, training and recruiting • All aspects of health and safety and EHO What qualifications do I need? Useful, but not essential, qualifications include: • City & Guilds diplomas in professional cookery • BTEC HND in professional cookery • A foundation degree in culinary arts • Health and safety and food hygiene certificates Who would it suit? You're someone who hits the ground running at every shift, who enjoys the fast pace of the kitchen and can consistently produce top quality dishes under pressure. You're a born leader who relishes taking responsibility for the running of the kitchen, but also knows when and how to delegate. You need to be approachable and a people person as you will work very closely with the front of house manager and their team

Shift Details: Your Split shift days are over! You will work up to 48 hours week. The hours are usually a start from 8:00am and finishing no later than 6pm. You may have to work late sometimes though to get the job done! £29,000 - £35,000, subject to experience.
