Ambitious cook required for delightful Farm Shop Restaurant

Are you an experienced cook who’s passionate about fresh, seasonal ingredients? Are you creative and enjoy inventing new product and menu ideas? Do you enjoy cooking well-presented meals from scratch? Then this could be the ideal role for you!


Our client is a family ran farm located the heart of the Cotswolds, near Cirencester. Since 2006, the business has expanded to include a farm shop – selling produce from the estate – and a farm café – which offers hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches using ingredients from the farm where possible.


The successful candidate will help to continue building the café’s fantastic reputation for its themed breakfasts and lunches, as well as contribute new café initiatives to help the business expand further. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an independent kitchen, as well as strong pastry-making skills. Finally, the ideal candidate will also enjoy working as part of a small team and enjoy working in kitchens with a customer focused ethos.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and cooking delicious, well presented meals from scratch

  • Working with other members of the kitchen team to ensure all orders are delivered in a timely manner and to the standards expected

  • Ordering food and sundries as necessary

  • Ensuring personal cleanliness and working practices are to a high standard

  • Support with kitchen paperwork, checks and ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety and housekeeping are always met

  • Assisting with cleaning down the kitchen after every shift

The person:

  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate is desirable

  • Experience working in an independent kitchen preferable

  • Pastry making skills – including sweet pastry items and savoury pastry items

  • Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness

  • Passionate about fresh, local food

  • Passionate about customer service

The role:

  • Full time or part time basis available

  • £10ph for up to 48 hours per week

  • Working days are Wednesday-Sunday

  • Own transportation is essential
